John Mancini in his recent blog post, “The Days of ‘Doing Social for the Sake of Doing Social’ are Over,”  referenced the AIIM Industry Watch “Social In The Flow.” As I read the industry watch the portion on social governance really struck accord with me as it ties into records management:

Of the people surveyed in the industry watch 20% feel that they never store social content as a record because it doesn’t fall within their records management policies. Another statistic that shows people RIM practices behind the eight ball in terms of social governance is that of the 19% which are storing social content in their records management system, 11% are requiring staff to feed the content into the system manually while the other 8% use automated means.
